Day 4-7 Recovery

Posted by on Nov 14, 2013 in Hair Transplant Blog UK, Hair Transplant Repair Diary, My Hair Transplant Updates | 0 comments

Day 4- Monday Slept OK feel a bit washed out and have a lack of energy. Swelling has kicked in overnight and moved down to the bridge of my nose, still pretty minimal though. Stepped up the washing by applying a little pressure on the recipient area but only very lightly, using the cup method for pouring water over still. Recipient feels back to normal only a little sore in places and scar seems to feel a little less painful when washing other than one spot on my left hand side where the pesky staple is. Scar is numb above the line but below is totally normal now. This will last around 2...

Day 8 – Friday Another good soak in the shower with the shower head onto the recipient and I think I have around 85-90% of the scabs and crusts off the scalp. Washing the donor is fine now just making sure I wash along the lines of the staples all seems very clean and I can feel each of the staples so no crusts or dried blood on here to worry about getting off. The test patch of smp seemed to be holding in my scar so we will give it a shot. I also saw a patient come in to get a test patch SMP done into his scar from another clinic, I was impressed and I hope it holds for the patient and he...

Day 11- Monday Washed hair, everything feels pretty much as normal as it will do now for a few more days until the staples come out. The little bit of redness that I had after the SMP has faded and I was able to admire just how much fuller it looks in the crown there is a noticeable difference between the front where the new grafts were placed and the back where the SMP has been done. Day 12 – Tuesday All as expected my neck is feeling less tight day by day and the recipient area has really healed well now and doesn’t look red. Most of the newly transplanted hairs are still in place apart...

Day 15 Of My Post Op Hair Transplant Recovery Diary Staples came out today so I had a long soak in the bath beforehand and washed my hair to remove as much of the crusting and scabbing from the staples and scar most had already gone by now but wanted to make it as painless as possible. My girlfriend was a little worried about taking the staples out for me and had trouble with the first one but I think it was the angle she was approaching it. It is best to start on the right hand side and work your way along so you can slide the tool under the staple. Anyway once she got going it was fine...

One Month in from my Hair Transplant with Hasson & Wong and this post continues my post op recovery. Having reached the 1 month point what are my observations to this point. Recipient area- Seems totally normal all pinkness has now faded and nearly all as far as I can see of my grafts have shed. I am left with the pre op hairs at a short length and possibly some additional new grafts that have not shed although impossible to say for sure. I see very few hairs now when I wash my hair so that is a sign that the grafts have shed. The area feels normal to touch with no pain or sensitivity....

2 Months Post Op

I have now reached the 2 month milestone after my hair transplant surgery in October at Hasson & Wong and here are my photos and thoughts. Recovery has been much easier this time around, the recipient area has healed and there appears no redness to the eye. The scar is still healing and the tissue underneath is reforming this makes the scar feel a little sunken. I was given a haircut around 2 weeks by my girlfriend it was the first time she had used clippers before and went a bit crazy around my neck, it must have been revenge for something I didn’t do! Thankfully my hair is...
